Advantages and Disadvantages of Low Pressure Screw Air Compressor

Many industries, such as chemical industry, glass, petroleum, textile, printing and dyeing, ceramics, etc., require only 0.3 to 0.5 Mpa of compressed air working pressure, which is belonged to the category of low pressure. At present, many industries use 0.7 to 1.0 Mpa air compressor with pressure relief valve, which is undoubtedly a huge waste of energy. Usually the use of pressure less than 0.5 Mpa air compressor is known as low pressure screw air compressor. As now we are pursuing energy-saving and environmental protection, this air compressor is exactly what we need. Low-voltage air compressor is made of small motor, large head and low speed, so the noise of compressor is low. The low pressure screw air compressor is generally started by star triangle step-down mode, when necessary, it can be used with soft and frequency conversion starting, so the starting current is relatively low. Screw machine has continuous compression, so there is no pulse in the air stream of compressed air, and the airflow is quite stable.

Because of the low internal pressure of the low pressure screw air compressor, the oil-gas separation effect is not so good. If the design is not good, it is easy to cause flying oil, which will lead to high temperature or even may cause the main engine locked. Because of the low internal pressure of the low pressure screw air compressor, the screw main engine is required to be higher. The low internal pressure not only makes the oil return less than the conventional screw compressor, but also makes the oil return speed less than the conventional screw compressor. Therefore, the air compressor manufacturer should upgrade the oil return system while improving the oil-gas separation effect.
