About diesel air compressor maintenance:

Lubrication:

The cleanliness of lubricating system is essential to the air compressor. The system was rinsed and fully tested at the factory. The oil groove should be line-sealed when it is delivered from the factory. If the line-seal is damaged, please follow the steps below under the guidance of authorized engineer from Ingersoll Rand company.

Wash oil pipe

1. Remove the oil tank inlet cover, then thoroughly remove all the oil stain in the transportation and dry the cover.
2. Fill the recommended oil to the appropriate level and replace the oil tank inlet cover.
3. Remove oil pipe from the gearbox inlet, and use the flexible pipe to make oil return to the oil tank.
4. Use pre-lubricated oil pump to make cycle at least one hour. The optimum wash temperature is 100 ℉ (37.8 °C).
5. Knock on all welded pipes by the plastic head or lead head during oil circulation to make all foreign matters fall off.
6. Switch the switch valve every 15 minutes for the units equipped with dual oil filter/cooler.
7. Turn off the pre-lubricated oil pump.
8. Drain oil filter and inspect the filter element. If there are foreign matters in the filter shell, replace the filter element and repeat steps 4 through 8 until the oil filter shell is cleaned. If there are no foreign matters, please proceed step 9.
9. Replace the filter element and check its internal cleanliness. Continue to wash the shell.

Wash gearbox

1. Reconnect the oil pipe to the gearbox.
2. Apply the seal to the instrument air (minimum 6PSIG(41KPA)).
3. Make pre-lubricated oil pump cycle for at least 1 hour.
4. Knock on all welded pipes by plastic head or lead head during oil circulation to make all foreign matters fall off.
5. Switch the switch valve every 15 minutes for the units equipped with dual oil filter/cooler.
6. Turn off the pre-lubricated oil pump.
7. Drain oil filter and inspect the filter element. If there are foreign matters in the filter shell, replace the filter element and repeat steps 3 through 7 until the oil filter shell is cleaned. If there are no foreign matters, please proceed step 8.
8. Replace the filter element and check whether the filter shell is clean.
9. Fill the recommended oil to the appropriate level.
10. Close the oil tank inlet cover.
